Demolition in Berlin, NJ

Berlin Borough and Berlin Township, Camden County. Family-owned, licensed and insured, and self-performing every stage of the work since 1979.

Demolition in Berlin

We handle demolition in both Berlin Borough and Berlin Township: garages, sheds, decks, pools, patios, driveways and selective slab work. Because Berlin is two separate municipalities, we confirm which one your property is in, file with the correct construction office, coordinate the right sewer department, and leave a compacted, graded site.

Borough or township? It matters

Berlin is two municipalities sharing a name: Berlin Borough and Berlin Township. A Berlin mailing address doesn't tell you which one you're in. The answer decides which construction office issues the demolition permit and which sewer department handles a disconnect, so it's the first thing we confirm.

Common demolition projects

Most Berlin jobs involve removing something from a property that's otherwise staying: a worn-out garage, a deck, a shed, a pool, an old patio or a driveway headed for replacement.

  • Garages and sheds, including slabs and footings
  • Decks, porches and stairs
  • Inground pools and surrounding concrete
  • Patios, walks and driveways
  • Slab cuts for underground plumbing repairs

Disconnects with the right provider

Sewer service is run by either the Berlin Borough or Berlin Township sewer department, depending on location, with wastewater treated by the Camden County MUA. Water comes from the Borough of Berlin Water Department. We coordinate shut-off and capping of any line that served the structure.

Removing a garage or shed

We cut power to the building, take it down, break out the floor slab and footings, and haul off the debris. If a new structure will go in the same spot, we tell you what the ground below looks like once the old slab is gone.

Concrete removal

Driveways, patios and walks are saw-cut at the edges, broken up and loaded out. Where new concrete follows, soft base underneath is dug out and replaced so the new slab has firm support.

Pools

Pool removal includes disconnecting power and plumbing, breaking out the shell and decking, and filling the hole in compacted lifts so the yard stays level for years.

Filling and grading the site

Every void is backfilled and compacted, and the final surface is graded to move water away from the house. Leaving a dip where a structure once stood just creates a puddle that comes back with every storm.

Permits

We prepare and file the demolition permit with the borough or township construction office that has jurisdiction, schedule inspections and close the permit out.

A clean, contained job

We protect lawns, fences and neighboring property, keep dust down and clean up daily. Debris is hauled away, and clean concrete is recycled where possible.

Emergency service

If a sewer line fails, our crews come out day or night.
